Francis Glenn "Buck" Chustz
An oilfield worker for Reliable Productions Service, Inc. with more than 40 years of service with the company. He died Thursday, October 6th, 2011 at his home in Erwinville. Buck was born on October 6th, 1928. He passed away on his eighty-third birthday. Visiting was at Niland's Funeral Home in Livonia on Saturday, October 8th, followed by a religious service at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Lakeland. Buck’s final resting place is in Chenal Cemetery.
For those who visited the funeral home to pay their final respects to Buck, as well as to console the family, we were not surprised to see Buck dressed in his Reliable uniform, nor were we taken back at the site of his favorite beverage that was at his side. This is how we knew him for over four decades.
During the eulogy, Buck’s stepson painted a picture of a man who was patient, caring, helped out anyone in need, never missed work, and above all, enjoyed life. In my thirty-two years of working with Buck, I find these attributes to be on the money.
Reliable has lost one of its most dedicated workers. His wife of thirty years, Mrs. Jean, has lost her faithful companion, and the community has lost a man a great character. Although Buck is no longer in our midst, he will always be in our hearts and minds as we remember the man who went about his day “enjoying life”.
